Why Isn't Summer Storage Prorated?

Summer Storage is priced as a seasonal service rather than a monthly storage rental.

Your pricing includes:

✔ Pickup inside your dorm or apartment
✔ Transportation to our climate-controlled storage facility
✔ Reserved storage space throughout the summer season
✔ Inventory management and handling of your items
✔ Redelivery inside your new dorm or apartment during move-in

Because warehouse space, trucks, staffing, and delivery schedules are reserved and planned months in advance, pricing is based on the full summer storage season and cannot be prorated based on pickup or delivery dates.

Whether your items are stored for 10 weeks or 16 weeks, the same storage space and operational resources must be reserved for your account throughout the summer.

Many families find that having our team handle the heavy lifting, transportation, storage, and August move-in logistics is one of the biggest benefits of the service.

Example

Student A moves out May 5 and moves in August 1.

Student B moves out April 29th and moves in August 15.

Both students are billed using the same Summer Storage pricing because pricing is based on reserving space and providing pickup, storage, and redelivery throughout the summer season—not the exact number of days stored.

For some low-cost items, replacement may make more sense than storage. We encourage families to review our pricing and decide which items are worth storing based on their individual needs and budget.

Summer Storage pricing is abased on a 4-month session, and Semester Abroad pricing is based on a one or two 4-month sessions and neither will not be prorated. A 10% discount will be offered to 8 months or longer.
